malaysia
Which one is the best Indonesia’s educational system
or Malaysia’s ? That is a question many
people think about it. Both Indonesia and Malaysia have developed their
education system each year. Thus, their education system, there are quite similarities
and plenty of differences between Indonesia and Malaysia.
Indonesia and Malaysia have some similarities in
education system. Education system is controlled by Ministry of education. This
department is responsible for administrating the entire system of education in
all levels; from primary to university. It also regulates curricula and
supervises the development of education in country. Education level in
Indonesia and Malaysia can be divided into three; primary, secondary and higher
education. In Malaysia primary is started at age of 7 to 12 years old and
Indonesia is either.
The similarities of education system are little but
the differences of education system certainly is more than the similarities for
example; in Malaysia, the academic year for schooling started from January to
November and for higher institution; the university is quite different
according to university’s own academic calendar and academic year in Indonesia
education system is during mid july to mid june. Primary education in Malaysian is known as
standard 1, standard 2 and so on. The formal assessment during primary
education is primary school assessment test. Indonesia’s primary education is
similar with 1st class, 2nd class and so on and all
levels education will be held the final examination from ministry of education.
Secondary education in Indonesia can be divided into two levels; junior
secondary education for 13 to 15 years old and senior secondary school for 16
to 18 years old, for students who is interested in other streams such as
technical or vocational, they have the opportunity to take what they are
interested in. secondary education in Malaysia is for students with aged 13 to
17 years old. There are two types of secondary education in Malaysia; the lower
secondary and upper secondary. The lower secondary education is meant for 12 to
15 years old students, the formal assessment is lower secondary assessment
which is normally held in October. The upper secondary education is meant for
students with aged 16 to 17, this period is the important one because they want
to pursue the study in higher education or go for working, the final test is
students have to have Malaysia Certificate Examination. Higher education in
Indonesia has many ways to enroll but in Malaysia for students who wants
to enroll university, they have to pass
pre-university.
Either
Indonesia or malaysia has similarities in enrolling school and dividing education level, and
differences in academic year for school and higher
education, the final examination each levels, and many others. After knowing
those similarities and differences, we take advantages from the differences not
to humiliate each other.
