Effect Of Smoking

The effects of smoking on human health are serious and ina many cases, deadly. There are approximately 4000 chemicals in cigarettes, hundreds of which are toxic. The ingredients in cigarettes affect everything from the internal functioning of organs to the efficiency of the body's immune system. The effects of cigarette smoking are destructive and widespread.
Smoking Effects on the Human Body
  • Toxic ingredients in cigarette smoke travel throughout the body, causing damage in several different ways.
  • Nicotine reaches the brain within 10 seconds after smoke is inhaled. It has been found in every part of the body and in breast milk.
  • Carbon monoxide binds to hemoglobin in red blood cells, preventing affected cells from carrying a full load of oxygen.
  • Cancer-causing agents (carcinogens) in tobacco smoke damage important genes that control the growth of cells, causing them to grow abnormally or to reproduce too rapidly.
  • The carcinogen benzo(a)pyrene binds to cells in the airways and major organs of smokers.
  • Smoking affects the function of the immune system and may increase the risk for respiratory and other infections.
  • There are several likely ways that cigarette smoke does its damage. One is oxidative stress that mutates DNA, promotes atherosclerosis, and leads to chronic lung injury. Oxidative stress is thought to be the general mechanism behind the aging process, contributing to the development of cancer, cardiovascular disease, and COPD.
  • The body produces antioxidants to help repair damaged cells. Smokers have lower levels of antioxidants in their blood than do nonsmokers.
  • Smoking is associated with higher levels of chronic inflammation, another damaging process that may result in oxidative stres

Communicating and Connecting Are Keys to Success
Do you recall a recent interaction you may have either been a part of or witnessed, where one person was clearly communicating some information and the audience clearly did not understand what was being said?  The speaking person, sooner or later, realizes from the puzzled looks or the questions being asked, that the message was not being understood. So the speaker starts again and says the same exact words, just more slowly and louder. Does this work? Does this method ever work? Of course not!
What is going wrong? It has been written in Harvard Business Review, “The number one criteria for advancement and promotion for professionals is an ability to communicate effectively.”
John C. Maxwell said, “It’s not enough just to work hard. It’s not enough to do a great job. To be successful, you need to learn how to really communicate with others.”
Before you assume this has nothing to do with you, my suggestion is to conduct a reality check for yourself.
The next time you are either giving some type of instructions, or speaking to pass on some information of importance, ask the listeners to repeat to you what they heard. Do not warn them beforehand that you will be asking them to do this or you will negate the test. They will listen closer and be more aware of your words.
The results of this little test may provide some insight for you. This will be across your life from the board room, to the charity committee you sit on, to the eight year olds on your Little League team.
Now that we are all in agreement, this may happen to any of us and it does. What do we do?
This is the topic of an entire course, Effective Communication.
Here are a few easy ways to begin your walk down the path of communicating and connecting more effectively.
  • Become a great listener
  • Ask excellent questions
  • Understand what is important to your listeners
  • Speak about areas important to you which match your listeners
  • Based upon the above items, create a relationship with your listeners
These are not meant to be easy and quick solutions. You will need to put in the time and practice. With all tips and techniques which are intended to create positive change the habit of utilizing the techniques must be created.
Each of these when utilized and practiced will bring forward results that will be obvious to you and your listeners, especially if the people are the same people who you have previously spoken to. Now you will be speaking with them and they will notice the difference.

BOLDNESS, COMMITMENT AND SUCCESS
“Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.” - Goethe.
Do you ever wonder how it is that some people are able to take an idea and just run with it? How is it that they pull a thousand little things together to make one big idea work?
It all begins with boldness and commitment. Boldness requires that we take some risks. It means that we begin to act on belief, without all the facts. Boldness is the ability to withstand the ridicule or disbelief of others. Having boldness means having courage. And that means that you can step out on a journey, with the belief that you can do something, and know that when you do, things will begin to fall into place.
Commitment is the second part of the equation. Many people are able to make the decision to be bold and take risks, but not many are able to stick with the decision. With no follow through, there is only musing, an illusive thought. Without commitment, an idea will die in your mind.
What was your last idea that you put aside? Was it something that came to you in the small hours of the morning? Did you write it down, think on it, expand on the possibilities, dream of the results and then lose your nerve? Later did you see that someone had the same idea and acted upon it, and the idea grew into a huge business? How often have you lost your nerve, or after stepping out, lost the commitment to make it work?
Did you know that every time that you have an idea the law of probabilities says that 10 other people in North America have the same idea? The person who has the success with the idea is the person who acts upon it first and fastest. This requires boldness and commitment.
So how do you start? As Goethe say, “Begin it”. Take the first step. Write it down and consider all the possibilities. Take a walk and let the idea grow. Try to let it run away with you, go ahead and get caught up in the moment. Let the idea carry you away to a place you have never been. Let it work its magic on you. Could it be successful? Only the universe knows. You will never know unless you begin it!
Successful business people often try and fail. But without that trying, the boldness and commitment they would never succeed either. Do not be afraid of failure. Boldness has greatness in it. Embrace your fear head on. Remind yourself again and again, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Then make the commitment to do everything possible to make your risk pay off. When others see your daring, your boldness and your commitment to follow through their respect and belief in you also grows. And the universe will do her part to make ensure your success.
So go ahead! Be bold! Make the commitment and succeed!
"One of the keys to effective communication and dispute resolution is understanding ourselves and how we think and also understanding how others are wired as well. Each of us has personality styles that are unique to ourselves - however there are also patterns as well. When you understand the differing personality styles and their blends - you begin to see people as they are with more understanding!

The unforgettable moments in the boarding school
New academic year was started. I was accepted in state Islamic university Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. In this university, I had to stay in the boarding school for two semesters later. The first time I arrived in the boarding school, I went to meet supervisor and advisor of boarding school. Supervisor and advisor told me about the rule of boarding school. He not only tells about the rule but also the activities of boarding school. After meeting with the supervisor and advisor, I am going to check my bedroom. I put my bags and cleaned the room. I was alone in the bedroom, so I tried to imagine about many things that will happen after day.
I was in the boarding school two days ago, but the other members were not coming yet. I have been alone during a day. Suddenly the door was opened, and there were three people coming. After a few minutes, two people came again. One of them came and spoke to me. After an hour, I was known the name of my roommate. We went to buy food together in the evening. When we arrived in the bedroom, there were three people in the bedroom. We talked to them and joked while eating. Adzan isya’ was heard. We prayed together in the bedroom. At the 18.20, there was an announcement that the student of boarding school would be gathered in the corridor of boarding school. We went to the corridor and be attention with the explanations of supervisor about many things. The supervisor said that the activities would start tomorrow morning. “The students of boarding school should wake up in the early morning. Going to the mosque in every prayer, and forbidden to come late. We would have shobahullugoh and taklim every morning, accept weekdays”, supevisorsaid loudly. After the announcement, we went to bed together. I remember all of moments during a day. Now, I have seven friends, Fatheemah, Syiha, Azzura, Vivi, Bieng, Syafeaa, and Sanea. I hoped they would be my best friends in this boarding school.
Fatheemah woke me up in the early morning,
“Za, wake up, wake up!”Zakeeyah said softly
“What was happen sister? I have been sleepy…” I said
“We have to go to the mosque, do you remember it?” Fatheemah said, very fast.
Sanea and Vivi came to help Fatheemah.
“Za, wake up, wake up” Sanea tried to wake me up.
“Come on Za, we have to go” Vivi said loudly.
“Okay okay, I know, I know”, I said lazily.
Syiha, Syafeaa and Bieng didn’t go to mosque, because they were getting their period. We went together to the mosque. After praying subuh, we read holy Qur’an together.
‘Za I am sleepy”, Vivi said weakly.
“How if we are come back to the bedroom now? I said in her ears.
“But we cannot do that, it is forbidden for us” Vivi tried to explain me.
“Never mind girl, we are not alone. There are many people coming back to the bedroom”, I said very clear.
“okey, let’s go!” Vivi said happily.
We were coming back to the bedroom and sleeping together.
“Za, Vivi, wake up. It’s time for sobahullugoh and taklim” Syiha said loudly.
“What time is it now?” I said ..
“06.00 a clock, come on, we will came late”. Syiha said
“Okay, let’s go!” I said
The activities of boarding school are too difficult for me. But my friend always remembered me about my parents in the house. There are many activities; usually I had taklim in the corridor, in the class, and in the mosque. Sobahullugoh not only did in one place, but also in the several places. We moved every day, sometimes in the sport center, in front of lecture building, etc. My friends and I, did it during semester until the holiday was coming. I was very sad, because I cannot came back to my home town.
“Why do you look so sad Za?” Fatheemah asked me warmly.
“I cannot come back to my home town” I said sadly.
“You can stay in my house and you can spend your holiday in my house” Fatheemah said
“But it will disturb you and your family” I said
“No, it will be fine” Fatheemah said
“Thanks’ Fatheemah” I said
Fatheemah’s family picked her and me up. When we arrived, Fatheemah’s mother waited for us in front of the house.
I was in Fatheemah’s house three days ago. When I woke up in the morning, my phone was twinkling on the table. I got a call from my uncle. My uncle called and asked me to spend my holiday in his house. I was permitted by Fatheemah’s family, because my uncle will pick me up that day.
To be autonomous person is better for our life, because we cannot ask someone else to help us every time. I was happy because I choose to study in the state Islamic university Maulana Malik Ibarahim Malang. I hope it will help me to be success person in the future.
