Communications are various method of sending information between people by speaking, writing, moving our bodies, or using other signals. The most common way of people communicating with others is through speaking or oral conversation, either directly or indirectly. To be able to communicate indirectly, people need means of communication, one other thing is by phone. There are two general kinds of phone; they are mobile phone or cell phone and home phone or public phone. Both perform the same basic function as the means of communication and have become essential part in everyday life. However, there are also significant differences between mobile and home phone.
As that has said previously, both mobile and home phone have the same basic function as the means of communication. They give efficient ways for people to communicate with others. The both make calls, can have voicemail, call forwarding, caller ID, and some other features. A mobile phone receives service from cell towers or a wireless cellular network. A home phone, as well as public phone, gets its service from a landline (a cable that carries the telephone signals under the ground). There are two types of home phone; corded and cordless phone. If we have a cordless phone at home, then our cordless and mobile phone are both cordless.
Despite the similarities of both, mobile and home phone have so many differences. The first common difference between the two is their appearance. While mobile phone is a wireless electronic device, home phone has a wired connection to the telecommunications grid. They are also different in use. Unlike a home phone or public phone, which must remain tethered to a telephone line, a cell phone can be used anywhere within range of a microwave telecommunications tower, making it useful for staying in contact with friends and family wherever we are. Moreover, a cell phone has greater features such as GPS Technology, TV, MP3 Players, Camera, Video, and many others. It also supports a wide variety of services such as text messaging, MMS, email, Internet access, short-range wireless communications (infrared and Bluetooth), business applications, gaming and photography. In contrast, a home phones does not have such features and services. However, a home phone or public phone has a very important advantage in an emergency situation. Through home phone, the 9-1-1 operators can better determine location and find the exact address where the call originated. When we call 9-1-1 from a cell phone, on the other hand, the operator only receives information about our approximate latitude and longitude, which can be from 50 to 300 yards. In conclusion, both are good and reliable for us depending on our needs.
The global community is dependent on efficient communication in order to function in daily life. Through modern technology era, telephone has extremely developed within society. Mobile phone and home phone are both efficient ways of communication, each with their strengths and weaknesses. The decision to use a mobile phone, home phone, or both, is based on the user’s convenience and satisfaction toward these devices. The older generation usually prefers to use home phone due to its convenience in use, while the younger generation seems to prefer having a mobile phone due to its extra applications and services. In short, both are more convenient and effective than use a tin can and string.

Nowadays, crimes are emerging everyday in everywhere. People seem to be frightened to go somewhere alone because various crimes are threatening their lives. Not only adults, children also become the vulnerable targets of the criminals. Sexual abuse on children is one kind of these criminal cases and has become a very popular term in society. The current issue of this case is the incident that happens in Jakarta International School where a student is sexually assaulted by two cleaning staff. The victim is reported to have some problems after the incident, such as depression, some pain on his body, and inability to express his feelings. These impacts prove that sexual abuse on children can affect them emotionally, physically, and socially.

Children who are abused experience some emotional problems, such as anger, hostility, fear, humiliation, and an inability to express feelings. They may become passive and think they cannot change their lives to be better. In addition, they may lose their energy and hope, believing that the whole world is a dangerous place. Besides, they may have trouble in learning, because their brain is busy with the stress of violent environment. Moreover, the long‐term emotional consequences will be more dangerous. For example, children who are abused are at risk of experiencing low self‐esteem, depression, drug or alcohol dependence, and even suicide. Therefore, there should be the right treatment for these abused children.

Beyond emotional effects, there are also physical effects of sexual abuse on children. Physically, abused children might have unusual injuries on their bodies. For example, wounds on the genitals, on the thighs and around the eyes. Abused children might also have poor hygiene such as an unwashed body or hair and unpleasant body odor. In the other hand, they might have trouble in walking or sitting because of disabling pain or injuries on their bodies. Therefore, they are afraid to change their clothes in front of other people and do not want others seeing their bodies. They might also avoid engaging in physical exercises because they worry people will touch their pained bodies. Children with this kind of problems should be cured immediately till doctors determine that the children are medically fit.

The other effect of sexual abuse on children is social effect. Immediate social consequences can include an inability to form friendship, poor social skills, poor cognitive and language skills. They refuse to participate in social activities, avoid sitting with peers and even distrust of others. They do not seem curious or interested in the sight, sounds or people in the environment. Abused children may also become aggressive and bullying others. In their adult life, the long‐term consequences can impact other people around them as well, such as crimes and unemployment. These social impacts are threatening not only the abused children themselves but also their environment.

Sexual abuse on children is a common problem worldwide. It affects children emotionally, physically and socially. These effects influence not only the abused children themselves but also their families and their communities. Therefore, it becomes everyone responsibility to always be aware of any kind of abuses and assaults. Parents have the most important role to take care of their children. If parents cannot control their children all the time, they can take trusted caregiver to guard their children. The main point is that children have to have the secure and healthy environment, in order that they are out of danger. It is because once children have experienced violence, recovery is the hardest part to finish.

Each student has different ideas though they may have the same goal. They always do what they want according to their interests and talents they have. They also have the right to decide their own choice. Then, what do they think about being an activist or academic student? Actually, it is not very serious problem for them due to become an activist or academic student is mutually beneficial. However, there are some different arguments between activist and academic student.

Both academics and activists have the same direction. They have the advantages of each and their own ways, where academics have high level of intellect through education and activists have the same skills that can be equated with academics. Usually activists do not immediately pass themselves because they are too busy with their activities. However, some of them can already play a role in society before their graduation. The important thing is where they decide to go on the path they want to go through, they know where they heading, and concentrate on steps to prevent the wrong way. Academics students are not only study, go home and achieve a high GPA without knowing about the common knowledge, but they should have intelligence and can prove it. Academics and activists will find their careers on their own ways. Even an academic can be from an activist background or vice versa.

Academic students are people involved in the academic world or anything related to education/knowledge. They active in education forums, knowledge, accomplishments, and know where they should go. Whereas, the activists are people who are active in social activities that relate to politics, society, and environment. They believe that GPA is not everything, but their personal skills, links, relationships, insight, knowledge and leadership can be found outside the campus. The activists do not mean that they like demonstration, but they are critical and actually students responsibilities as agents of change.

Academia and activism are simply different things. Activists spend the time for promoting social change, so they have experience and knowledge in wider community. Therefore, they must be smart to split time in order their activities do not interfere their learning. However, most of the activists more concern with their organization than education. While the academic students more concern with education, which through knowledge they can go into the community with the knowledge gained during the study. They think that education is more important, and they spend their spare time to study or research, without having to busy thinking about activities or programs must be run as activists.

Based on the above description, both activists and academics are not very serious problem for every student. Since both are mutually supporting on the science and the advantages of each. Therefore, activists can exchange experiences with academics and vice versa, because students have the same role as agent of social control for the community.
