A Good Teacher

What qualities make a good teacher? Should a teacher always be cruel or stern? Is it because teacher is a good figure, so that teacher should keep his or her image? These characters are really different from my teacher in my senior high school,Mrs. Heni. She was a good teacher in my school, because she could be a good planner, good parent, and good friend for students.


The most important thing if we want to be a teacher, we have to be a good planner. Teacher should be planning all of the things that are related to teach his or her students. Preparing the lesson plan before attending the class is really needed for a teacher. For example, teacher should prepare materials that are interesting. Teacher could be preparing a game that makes his or her students enjoying the class activity. My teacher, Mrs. Heni always prepared various materials before attending the class. She always had a good plan, how to teach her students. Usually she brought an interesting worksheet that we had to do it in the class. She combined of studying and playing. Therefore, it made her students are happy and enjoy the class. 
 

Beside a good learner, teacher should be a good parent for students, because teacher is the second parent in the school. Teacher is the person that should lead his students to go to the right path. Teachers also have to give attention to their students. Good teachers should remind their students, if they make a mistake. Teacher’s obligation sometime the same as the obligation of parent in the house. Such as Mrs. Heni, she was being a mother for her students. Usually her students shared their problem to her and she tried to solve their problem. She also scolded her students if they made a mistake or caused problem in

the school. 


Teachers also should be a good friend for their students. Being a good friend doesn’t mean that students will treat teacher impolitely. It means, although a good teacher is a good friend for their students, but students still should be polite to their teacher. Teachers could be a friend for their students, but out of the class. For instance, teachers permit their students to go to their house just for visiting them. Or, teacher would join the agenda that is held by their students, for example goes to the beach together in the end of the semester. Mrs. Heni also treated us as her friend when we were out of the class. We usually went to her house just for playing with her child. Mrs. Heni also ever joined our class vocation and she became a great friend to us. However, we were still being respect to her because she is our teacher. Therefore, we treated her as polite as we could. 

Teachers are not a ghost that student always afraid of them because they are frightening when teaching and always giving a lot of assignments. Teachers have their own reason when they have to be strict or force students to do something. As an important figure, teachers should have good qualities to be a good teacher, so their students can be happy and comfortable when they teach them. Teachers as a candle who lead their students from the darkness to the lightness and lead their student to go to the right path. “Without teacher this world is nothing”.
